Time to go see the Grand Canyon, North Rim.
The lodge area was nice, but the road that goes off to the east towards Roosevelt Point was spectacular.
For those wondering about the Ponderosa Pine forests on the North Rim in the middle of a desert, they get a fair amount of annual precipitation (including a lot of snow). This map also shows why water projects like the Salt River Project in Arizona work -- there is a good part of the state that gets at least as much precipitation as western Iowa each year.
(Also, something about Ponderosa forests I really like compared to eastern forests; they're mostly more open.)
Vermillion Cliffs National Monument, headed towards Navajo Bridge. Photos just can not do it justice.
