Garage Organizing Part #8 of a continuing mission

Garage bar improvements. Fireball in hot cocoa was my preferred poison of the day, though Eric made a dent in the Crown and schnapps.

How am I the oddball who loses an 11mm socket instead of 10mm?

Craftsmen, Air Tools

Craftsmen, Electric Tools

Craftsmen, Hammer and pry bar drawer

Craftsmen, Metric Wrenches. Gear wrenches in roll bag.

Craftsmen, SAE Wrenches. One roll bag with gear wrenches, others traditional.

Craftsmen, Measuring

Craftsmen, Tap/Die/Extractors

Craftsmen, Staples/Rivets/Split Rings/Leather Punch

Husky 3/4", 1/2", 3/8" Drive socket drawer

The "bags" have silica beads in them. Seeing if this helps control condensation when we have big temperature swings.

Husky, 3/4" Drive breaker bar, 1/2" drive wrenches and extensions, electronic torque meter

Husky, 1/2" Beam torque wrench, 3/8 and 1/4" click torque wrenches, 3/8 drive wrenches and tools

Husky, Filter wrenches, brake tools, more automotive tools, chain tool

Husky, 1/4" drive wrenches and sockets, 1/2" 3/8" 1/4" Wobble extensions, very small wrenches (in tin), allen wrenches

Husky, One ugly drawer...we'll hopefully be working on this tomorrow. Fustrating the occassional condensation issues have drills bits looking like this.

Husky, Another ugly drawer for to continue working on.

Husky, Photo didn't come out, but one of bottom deep drawers is empty.

Husky, so plan for tomorrow is to get some plastic boxes to fit the hub puller and axle seal tool in to protect them from future condensation issues. I think that will fit in the bottom of the drawer with enough space to still have the trim kit above it.

These will move to the bottom of the Craftsmen, but I want to label them better and the label maker batteries were dead from being in a cold garage :/

Progess!

Garage Cleaning Part 7

Does going to Harbor Freight before 10am on a Sunday mean you're officially an old man?

Needed furniture dolly to put some spare tile on to slide it under the workbench, then to Cumbys to do a propane bottle swap. So...that means I have a total of four propane tanks and all are currently legal to refill. Thought I had three when I started this garage cleaning project...

Sitting here with the salamander going...if I was a more sociable person I'd say a portable propane fire pit in here would be good for winter time "camp fires" :D

Still fighting the Law of Flat Surfaces on the blue workbench like Gandalf fought the Balrog.

The big workbench remains the last big thing to clean up.

Tight on this side, but the stuff is easy enough to move when the time comes to do that front wheel.

Garage cleaning part 6

Got going a bit late waiting for the rain to end around 9:30. Had the Jeep full of garbage, paint, and oil for the dump; then to Lowes to pickup some Bakers' Racks, and Dubay's for ethanol free gas.

Leaving Dubay's and taking the long way home, noticed the gate was open to Ross' Marsh and I had never gone down there before.

Came in for a bandage...stayed for a selfie.

Only the finest of zip tie engineering will do!

Let's take a break for lunch, but first put some ethanol free gas in the mower and let it run itself dry for the winter while I'm inside.

Well, I guess that won't fit back to front like I originally wanted...

Oh come on, you don't clear either? Good thing I own a Dremel and know how to use it.

Some things should not exist. A 3/4" to 3/8" drive adapter is one of those things

It isn't the most complete socket collection in the world...but far and away this is the most visibility I've ever had to know what I have quickly without having to pickup and look at a bunch of individual sockets.

Some minor re-jiggering still to come, but it is mostly done.

Happy New Year

What pretty frost!

Aye, you served me well through 2020. Last of the yeast I had managed to string along all year!

Kind of liked that composition while waiting for a propane tank fill.

"Oh look, I made cocoa this morning and forgot to drink it..."

Fortunately I realized in time it was the yeast I was proofing to make bread tomorrow. But I came damn close to drinking it :D

Moved quite a bit to the shed today. Jeep is loaded up for a dump run with three bags of trash and storage container full of pain and used oil to drop off.

So I think I can finish organizing this "wall" tomorrow, and I'll be able to pull the Fusion into the garage before the next snow on Sunday so worst case I can do the brakes after work a couple evenings this week.

Silica Beads

See if I can avoid losing the instructions by uploading them :)
