Wow!
Countering the nattering nabobs of negativism and the hopeless, hysterical hypochondriacs of history.

Shutup and Dance With Me -- Movie Dance Compilation
I enjoy this song way more than I should.
Another one I can't embed by a Fred Astaire fan
And a great Footloose compilation -- the intro especially is awesomely done:

Kayaking Quonochontaug and Other Stuff...
When you see this at work, well it's not good.
Still sort of amazed my boss made it home with this pickup full of pallets I and David loaded up for her...
Gonna have tomato sauce this year!
Sunday I headed down, later than I wanted, to Quonochontaug to go kayaking. I got to Voluntown when I suddenly realized my paddle was at home...hrrrmph. Got to URE in Hope Valley about 8:45 and waited for them to open at 9.
After resisting temptation for a while, finally bought a nicer (lighter) paddle.
Remains I assume of a building swept away by the 1938 Hurricane.
Weekapaug.
Fishermen...I can remember seeing these guys, gosh probably forty years ago -- they amazed me as a little kid. My dad used to drive on the beach, but by the time I was around you needed permits and such.
w00t! They let you set in and walk across the barrier island to the surfside!
Was just my kayak and an old canoe when I got here, but by the time I got back the sun was starting to poke out and a fair number of other kayaks had arrived, and there was even a tent set up.
I was just going to wade in to my waist. A VERY large wave snuck up on me and soaked my shirt...so at that point I just went with it and spent about 45 minutes doing my best imitation of a Sea Otter. Been a very, very long time since I've done that in ocean surf!
I'm about 1-1/2 miles west of Blue Shutters and 2 miles from East Beach, the two beaches I went to the most as a kid. #Nonostalgianonewhatsoever. It's about three miles east of Misquamicut.
Guessing I put in about 2-1/2 hours paddling and 45 minutes sea-ottering. I'm going to be sleeping well tonight...

Birthday and other stuff...
Enroute to West Island on 8/7...and some winter night need to rotate the image :D
Forgot my scupper plugs, so I found this place called Bananas that would cause a Boy Scout to faint:
Finally on the water:
Providing adult supervision to the Borgesons + Friend:
Back to the office...that was a nice lunch!
