I love to doodle, and Before PCs I was pretty good at technical drawings for no formal training (though I had one of Vinny's old college drafting books I taught myself from).
But I always sucked if trying to do non-technical stuff. Hated anything 3-D I tried drawing without a straight edge.
Decided this week, maybe because I'm going stir crazy with all the snow, to try and copy a style of comics I like -- I hadn't tried doing something probably since high school. I know it's not very good, but I couldn't believe how much better it was than anything I remember doing years ago!
Got home late Friday from Eric & Missy's and through in a chili just about midnight. Which may have been a bit late since I thought I was forgetting something...woke up the next morning and remembered I never put any crushed tomatoes OR beans into chili! WTF! Still had enough time to add those in and let it finish for lunch.
Countering the nattering nabobs of negativism and the hopeless, hysterical hypochondriacs of history.

How to cook pasta.
I don't make pasta very often anymore (it was an easy wheat product to cut out)...but I so need to follow this method next time I do:

Pannukakku (and more snow)
-7F?
Looks like it's a good morning to make Finnish Pancakes while waiting for it to at least be above zero before I clean up yesterday's 3" of snow that formed 24" drifts in the driveway (this pic is before the 3"...):
2 Tbsp of butter, put in the pan and start pre-heating the oven to 400.
2 Eggs, beaten
1-1/4 cup of milk, 1/2 cup flour, 1/4 cup sugar, Dash and a half of salt, mix those with eggs
By this point the butter should be bubbling in the pan. Swirl it around a bit to cover the base, then puot in the batter.
30 minutes at 400.
Let them cool a bit to set before eating.
And at least I'm not in Boston:

Food...and Mom with her iPad...
This week's food pics...
Tuesday night was a Tuna Melt on Chiabata bread (thought that up as I was grocery shopping that evening):
Wednesday it was time to roast a chicken.
First time I've cooked Fennel!
Mom and her new iPad...
Sunday morning was (surprise!) chicken soup time:
And a nice breakfast of bacon and eggs:
